The Birth of Iconic Energy

In December of 2014 at the age of 25 and looking to move on from a successful year as owner/operator of Teague’s Machine Source, Teague Dickey, founder and CEO of Iconic Energy LLC, sat outside a restaurant contemplating the advice he received from a mentor: “Whatever business you choose, be sure to offer products that are essential.”

As he looked around and noticed the stop lights, streetlights, business signs, interior lighting, and, of course, people on their phones, Teague realized that electricity powered everything he saw.  Hit hard by this realization, he set his mind on researching what type of products he could offer (geo-thermal, wind, or solar) that create electricity.  Solar made the most sense.  After a year of testing various types and brands of solar equipment, Teague settled on the products he would offer, and Iconic Energy Solar Professionals was born.

Iconic Energy EV Becomes a Division of Iconic Energy

Seven years later, after many growing pains associated with starting a new business and over a thousand satisfied solar customers in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin, we find ourselves in the midst of an EV revolution well under way across the globe.  Relatively recent changes in government regulation, technology, and consumer behavior are driving the global auto industry to make commitments and massive investments toward all-electric production.  American legacy automakers have set goals for electric models to make up 50% of all new vehicle sales by 2030.

The future is now and forming Iconic Energy EV was the obvious next step to add to our established solar platform and assist in ushering in this new era of mobilization by designing and installing safe, convenient, user-friendly, and affordable EV charging solutions.

Investment in Our Rockford Community

As of January 1, 2022, we are happy to announce the purchase of the Rockford news tower, locally known as the Rockford Register Star building.  This “iconic” art deco structure in downtown Rockford is the current home of Iconic Energy EV and the future home of our growing and expanding family of businesses.

We are also considering how we can open to other types of businesses so the public can also enjoy this beautiful structure.  Please know that a large portion of your investment with Iconic Energy EV will be reinvested in updating the building and improving the landscape of downtown Rockford.  Through our Facebook page we will do our best to keep you updated on the progress.

Finally, we cannot fail to mention our newfound enjoyment of the beautiful resident family of peregrine falcons.  What a joy it is to watch Brian and Louise raise their family of chicks on the 8th floor ledge.  We are working with the Sinnissippi Audubon Society and will do our very best to accommodate the falcons during renovations so they can call this place home for many years to come.
